A Book of Authentic International Recipes from 166 Different Countries 8vo size spiral bound softcover; 296 pages followed by Recipe Index which groups the recipes by type of meal: Desserts; Rice, Grains and Pasta, etc. Recipes include the name or initials of the contributor and the country of origin of the recipe appears in parentheses, but there is no contributor index. Two pages in the front of the book provide an index of country names and on what page those recipes are. There is no Table of Contents, but red colored section dividers list the geographic area of the world on the front and on the reverse is list of countries in that section and on what pages those recipes appear. This is quite an incredible collection of recipes from around the world. Contributors include exchange students and alumni of the program and many foreign embassies. (They wrote to 147 embassies asking for recipes.) Many of the recipes in this book were tested (although there is no indicator of which recipes), which is unusual for a community cookbook. There are also some recipes reproduced with attribution and permission from several published cookbooks. We have never seen an international community cookbook recipe collection as inclusive as this one.
