It is from the College Admission Registers, exclusively, that we can obtain such facts as parentage, birth-place, age, school, and so forth. A fairly full account is given in the Matriculations and Degrees, of the dates of commencement and fulness of information afforded by these registers. But enquiries are so often made on this subject, from those outside, that it will be well to give a brief summary. We have to thank the respective authorities for permission to publish the contents of these registers, including some already printed. In the case of the four Colleges which have published their registers with biographical details we have, of course, only summarized the information afforded, and acknowledged it under each entry.
