And the one stirred at the touch of light and spread forth his arms, and lo, this one was Hatte. And he stood, and looked unto the way unto Jerusalem, and unto the way unto the hut of Panda, and his lips spake: "Even hath the dream of Hatte emptied; for he seeth her stripped, stripped!" And he laughed and let fall his hands, and knelt beside a lamb and spake more: "Thou dost slumber. Thou art young, young and tender, and yet the ewe, e'en while thou dost slumber, may be offered up in sacrifice. So hath Hatte lain and slumbered and she hath been offered up. She spake the name ' Jehovah, ' and He hath let this thing that it be! Hatte's head splitteth at the taking-in of this thing. Who is he who hath ridden here? Who is he who hath the mighty-sign and setteth the one of Rome within Jerusalem that his words be naught, and opeth up the pits? Who is he? Jerusalem hath asked this thing, Who? Who? Who?
