The Liberty Gun (Structure Trilogy 3) - Livres de poche

2007, ISBN: 9780743256810

Edition reliée, ID: 1037664304

Ane Books Pvt. Ltd. First edition. Softcover. New. Topology is a simultaneous generalization of two aspects: (1) the metric spaces (that includes normed linear spaces and inner product spaces and — both finite and infinite dimensional), and (2) the various geometries (Euclidean, affine, and projective). Almost all the books in the market are based on the first view point, ignoring or paying very little attention to the second view point. This book emphasizes more on the second point of view, without losing focus on the first point of view. Moreover, the author has taken great pain in presenting the subject matter in a cogent manner and with enough clarity, so that a student can do self-study. At the same time, rigor has not been sacrificed or diluted. This book is an outgrowth of the authors many years of experience in teaching topology at the postgraduate level and, therefore, intended especially for that level. Plenty of worked out examples and problems have been included to benefit both the teachers and the students. Plenty of figures are included as visual aids for enhancing the understanding. Certain topics, which are interesting but may prove to be a digression, have been dealt in appendices at the end of each chapter, giving adequate subjective information. On the whole, this book will be a welcome addition to the existing literature on topology and anticipates all success. Printed Pages: 212., Ane Books Pvt. Ltd, Gyan Books Pvt. Ltd., 1994. Hardcover. New. 15 x 23 cm. The book is a pioneering exercise in the bio-anthropological Study among the two lesser known scheduled Tribes of Orissa, the Bathudis and Sountis. The field work based on empirical data was generated from 59 different villages of Mayurbhanj district and have been compared with the similar earlier studies of various tribal populations from the neighbouring states. It has been established that Bathudis and Sountis show closer affinities not only with each other but also with the Bhuiya of which they are an offshoot and the Mundari-speaking populations. Their proximity with the neighbouring Dravidian populations and the Mongoloid populations also indicate about their possible admixture in the past. The present exercise also throws light on the possible mechanism of fission and fusion as well as the Nature of migration that together have developed the contemporary Population composition of the Region inhabited by the Bathudis and Sountis. The collected data has helped to draw the conclusions with a Higher degree of validity. Contents: 1. Introduction 2. Demographic Characters 3. Qualitative Observations (Anthroposcopic Characters and Other Morpho-genetic Traits) 4. Anthropometric Characters 5. Finger and Palm Dermatoglyphic Characters 6. Genetic Variations 7. Group Characters 8. Population and Sex Variations 9. Comparison with Other Populations 10. Conclusion Printed Pages: 284., Gyan Books Pvt. Ltd., 1994, Gyan Books Pvt. Ltd., 1994. Hardcover.
